Why is Doula Gina passionate about teaching Dancing For BirthTM?
I have loved dancing as an activity for as long as I can remember. Some of my happiest, most confidence-building memories are from times when I was dancing. I have knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum to pass on to others as they embark on their parenting journeys, and I have a desire to share this information and any resources that may benefit people. I want to help others have enjoyable birth and postpartum experiences; with Dancing For BirthTM classes, I hope to make strides to reduce birth trauma and improve perinatal outcomes, which is part of my mission as a doula.
Weekly public classes every Wednesday evening at the Root in Sacramento.
Every 4 weeks, you’re invited to bring a partner/support person to class at no additional cost; next session is September 18, 2024.

Private Birth Art Journey
Creating birth art can be a fun and insightful activity for those who are pregnant or postpartum and also for anyone who is further in their parenthood journey. Birth art is also a wonderful way to engage in introspection for everyone, and especially those who work with pregnant people or parents.
Doula Gina will guide you through the process of creating your own birth art during one or more workshop sessions. Each session will take about 45 minutes to an hour. You don’t have to be an artist in any way to enjoy this or gain a new perspective about birth or yourself. It isn’t about the art you create; it’s about the insight you can attain from the process and how the art makes you feel.
For in-person sessions, you provide the location within 50 miles of West Roseville (95747), and we will provide all the art supplies you’ll need. If you have a personal journal you’d like to use for writing about your art process, you are welcome to have that with you; otherwise, writing instruments and paper will be available for the journaling portion of the workshop.
If you want to participate virtually, you’ll need to choose whether you prefer to engage in a drawing or clay process for each session. For a clay session, you’ll need to have clay or a clay substitute and an adequate work space. For drawing, you’ll need a large piece of paper (at least 11×14) and 8-12 colors of chalk pastels (preferred); crayons, colored pencils, or markers will also work. A pen or pencil to write with will also be helpful to journal about your art. No other preparation is needed.
1 Session – $50
2 Sessions – $95
3 Sessions – $135
Up to 2 participants per session with no additional cost.
Up to 4 additional participants may be included for $15 per participant per session.
Virtual Group Birth Art
Doula Gina also regularly facilitates virtual group birth art sessions, typically two sessions per month, one drawing session and the other as a sculpting session. These workshops are pre-scheduled up to 3 months in advance.
