There are a few different postpartum doula options outlined here to provide the level of service that best meets your needs. Payment plans are available to break up the cost of services into affordable monthly payments. All Atala Doula Services postpartum clients receive lifetime access to the Lending Library.
One (1) prenatal/intake visit is required for all postpartum doula clients. This visit should be scheduled during the 3rd trimester of your pregnancy, if possible. We will meet for approximately 2 to 3 hours to discuss your postpartum doula needs. There is a separate $125 fee for this visit.
Travel up to 50 miles each way from West Roseville (95747) is included. For in-person support outside of this radius, a travel fee of $50 per additional 25 miles will apply.
What can you expect from your postpartum doula?
Have you heard of the 4th trimester of pregnancy? This phase is the first few months immediately following pregnancy and birth, and it’s a time when birthing people and their families should be able to depend on others to help make the transition to their new way of life easier. Having a postpartum doula, even if just for a couple of hours, can provide the support you need when you most need it.
- Emotional support for the birthing person and family
- Helping the birthing person stay hydrated, comfortable, and as rested as possible
- Guidance on effective newborn care (diaper changes, bathing, bedtime and feeding routines)
- Lactation support
- Bottle preparation/feeding
- Baby soothing and bonding methods
- Assistance with integration of a newborn into the family and home (including with pets)
- Evidence-based postpartum and newborn information
- Light meal/snack preparation
- Light housekeeping/organization (dishes, laundry, tidying up)
- Caring for the baby so parents can sleep/nap, shower, or eat
- Assistance with errands
- Companion for pediatrician appointments, postpartum checkups, lactation consultant visits
- Referrals for additional resources as needed
Your postpartum doula will not:
– Perform any clinical/medical tasks.
– Make decisions for you.
– Impose their philosophy/beliefs regarding newborn care on you.
– Judge your parenting choices/experience.
60-hour Postpartum Doula Package
$1800
This postpartum doula package offers 60 hours of personalized, in-person support during the 12 weeks following delivery. These hours may be broken up as needed to best serve you, day or night. Hours should be scheduled in advance to ensure availability. Unlimited phone/text/email support, even beyond the newborn stage, is included.
Common schedule: 4-6 hours per day/3 days per week or 2-3 hours per day/4-5 days per week for 5-10 weeks, amount of hours per day and/or days per week higher in early weeks and reduced in later weeks

30-hour Postpartum Doula Package
$1050
This postpartum doula package offers 30 hours of personalized, in-person support during the 12 weeks following delivery. These hours may be broken up as needed to best serve you, day or night. Hours should be scheduled in advance to ensure availability. Unlimited phone/text/email support, even beyond the newborn stage, is included.
Common schedule: 4-6 hours per day/3 days per week or 2-3 hours per day/4-5 days per week for 3-6 weeks, amount of hours per day and/or days per week higher in early weeks and reduced in later weeks
Individual Postpartum Doula Hours
2-hour minimum
You may purchase individual postpartum doula hours as needed without committing to one of the postpartum doula packages. A minimum of 2 hours for each day is required.
- Daytime (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.) $40/hour
- Nighttime (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) $45/hour
Common schedule: 3 days with 4 hours of support each day or 6 days with 2 hours of support each day
I am currently working towards achieving postpartum doula certification through DONA International. If you book at least 12 hours of postpartum doula time and would be interested in assisting me with this goal by completing an evaluation of my doula services, you will be eligible for a 50% discount* on your postpartum doula services (*discount via refund of pre-paid services, or revision of total amount due if using a payment plan; issued upon receipt of evaluation).
